Joshua Generation: Positioning In An Offensive Side

This is a blog that calls the Joshua generation in the Philippines to arise and position to an offensive side against our battle over the weather. I am led by the Spirit of God to write about the Typhoon Lando which is now considered as a super typhoon internationally. God has a word for us Filipinos. We do not sink in the hopelessness and fear brought by the typhoon but we declare what God is saying to us.

God is calling now the Joshua generation among us. There are three visible manifestation brought by Joshua in his time. Those are the following:

  1. Expedition of the fulfillment of the promise (years of travel to the Promised Land was hastened to number of days in his time)

  2. Powerful worship that crushes down Walls of Hindrance and Stronghold (Wall of Jericho)

  3. Bold authority over the heavenly bodies to their advantage (sun and moon in Joshua 10)

We will appropriate ourselves now in the third operation as a Joshua generation. We are facing another super typhoon in our country. We will position ourselves in an offensive side even in our prayer. Indulge our God-given authority in our prayers and intercession. We operate in the side of our God just as with Joshua.

Joshua 10:12-14

12 On the day the Lord gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said,

“Let the sun stand still over Gibeon,
and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.”

13 So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies.

Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar[b]? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day.[c] 14 There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the Lord answered such a prayer. Surely the Lord fought for Israel that day!

Surely when God spoke that He will use Philippines in His end times movement, He will preserve us and protect our nation. All we have to do is listen to Him and position ourselves.

In Joshua 1, God promised Joshua the land for him and his people. And along with that promise is to defeat those who will prevent them from acquiring the fulfillment of God’s promise not by their  might but by the Spirit of God.

Joshua 1:5

No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.

And Joshua took heed of God’s prophetic declaration. And in Joshua 10 when they faced a battle, he used that assurance to be bold in his authority over their situation. He prayed with a very peculiar prophetic language.

He said in verse 12:

“Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.”

He declared with authority over the heavenly bodies to be their advantage. And guess what? The sun and the moon obeyed that authority for God has given it to Joshua. And the Israelites won their battle.

Now what is it for us today?

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. The same God who was with Joshua is with us today. Let us position ourselves in the same God-given authority over every super typhoon that enters into our nation. Let us make the weather work for our advantage with the power of our mighty God! It was reported that the typhoon will stay til Wednesday which can cause much damage due to its slow track but nothing is impossible with God.

This authority comes when the nation is at the position of total repentance.

Let us allow God to speak through us and declare over the typhoon, “Typhoon Lando, your wind and its velocity is not welcome in our land! We declare only moderate rain to fill in our water shed for water supply more than enough in the season of El Niño! We declare and command you not to bring any damage and death over our nation. We declare that the moment you fill up all our water reservoir enough for our supply, you will leave the country immediately! And we declare that you will only bring blessings and abundance in our land! In the mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.”

As I was meditating what God is saying to us Filipinos, a song just significantly played in my music player. The title is “Big” by Planetshakers.

My God is big
So strong so mighty

My God’s plan for me
Goes beyond my wildest dreams

My God is good
He’s so good to me

My God is big
So strong so mighty

My God is good
He’s so good to me

He’s my God and
He is my refuge
He’s the rock on which I stand
He’s my fortress
God, He is my life
He holds the oceans in His hand

My God is Big
So Strong so mighty

My God is good
He’s so good to me

There’s nothing my God cannot do

You can listen to it with this video.

How great and mighty is our God??? Beyond description! Awesome!
