Encounter The Healer Part 2

Here, see that Jesus healed the man during Sabbath day. And he is criticized because of that. Sabbath is a day of rest from shabbath “to cease to do to” or “to rest”. Now, Jesus did the healing during on this day. And that broke the law of having a rest from what we usually do on regular days because it is a day to rest.

Genesis 2:2-3

2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

This shows that Sabbath is the day for God. We see, from first day to sixth day, God created everything including man and woman. These six days is for us to enjoy what God has created to supply all we need for a living. Now, the seventh day is to enjoy God for who He is. We are to meet Him and enjoy the things He wants to do on our behalf in greater measure.  Saying all these, Sabbath day is actually resting in the presence of God to enjoy Him and the things He is doing on our behalf. On this day, we are to let go and offer everything to Him as He is doing something for our sake. And that day is not only during Sundays, but every day because we are now under the Grace of God not under the Law of Moses. It is meeting God in private and personal hours and meeting our fellow believers to worship God together. There are debates about what day is the Sabbath day. Is it on Saturday or Sunday? It is neither. Sabbath day is every day according to the original church God has built during the day of Pentecost. We should meet God and worship Him every day. Now, I think there is no church today having a worship service everyday. But look at this.

Acts 2:46-47

46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

So when Jesus was criticized for healing during Sabbath day, they are criticizing the work of God through Jesus not the work of man in his being. Remember, Jesus was not recognized as the Messiah as the Son of God in those times, more severely until today to some. He is just recognized probably as a prophet although it is with a doubt and unbelief if He is a prophet of God or from the devil. That is why they criticize Him.

John 9:13-14

13 They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind. 14 Now the day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened the man’s eyes was a Sabbath.

Now the implication of that scenario is this. Healing comes when people rest in the presence of God and allow God to move in their behalf. That is the reason of Sabbath. And we know that it should be every day. Do not limit God’s work on Saturdays or Sundays. God can move and heal us on Monday; even on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday if we come into His presence and allow Him to minister to us. Get the instruction for healing in His presence. It may be funny, senseless or ridiculous. But that is faith. We expect because we are assured. We are assured because it is His promise to heal us. Do not limit God’s work or grieve the work of His Spirit. Do not be stubborn and lurk into unbelief. Do not put God in a box.

Mark 3:4-5

4 Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent. 5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.

Now rest in God every day! Meet Him and allow Him to work in our life! Have our Sabbath day with Him every new day!
