In the previous session, we discussed about our restoration back to God. We will continue that in this message. Are we ready to be restored to God? Do we desire to be with Him in our life and be perfect? Join me in plucking one of the gifts when we are restored in His presence and likeness.
22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
It is time to be restored! In this day and age, the presence of God is manifesting through the Holy Spirit as the promise of Jesus before He went to heaven.
One thing that is very noticeable in one of healing encounters with Jesus, He always says “Your sins are forgiven.
2 Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”
Why did Jesus say this? This is because Jesus is introducing the Love of God the Father. And we have learned that Grace is God’s Love in Action. And Jesus is the embodiment of God’s Grace. Now, Forgiveness is God’s Grace in Action. We don’t deserve forgiveness, but because of His Grace we are forgiven. Grace is giving something to someone who is undeserving. Jesus is establishing here the forgiveness God is giving to those who wants healing. He forgives!
Now, listen! Healing comes if we are restored back to Him. So what should we do? Accept the Love of God. In accepting His Love, recognize and accept the Grace of God. In that, encounter and accept God’s forgiveness! Let Him establish the forgiveness in us. Then healing comes.
Some say that in these verses, we need to forgive then healing comes. What Jesus is trying to tell us here is receive God’s forgiveness and then be restored unto Him. Then healing comes. Remember, we cannot forgive other unless we are forgiven. Healing is just the overflow of His presence. Jesus is trying to say “Come you are forgiven! Be restored back! Receive this forgiveness! And you are healed!” And with this forgiveness, if we accept it and live by it, every promise of God in the Bible is Yes and Amen to the glory of His Son Jesus Christ!
This forgiveness will not only affect our body. If we accept it with all our heart and mind in full conviction and faith, it will turn our life around! We see, it’s not only our physical and mental health that is affected. It will have a domino effect together with our emotional and spiritual health. Our relationship with God will never be the same. And we will endure in our relationships with others. You will love them better, forgive more, and serve much! The love of God and His forgiveness will transpire from us to them. The first power God has given us through His Love is to forgive! Forgive ourselves and forgive others. Much more is to forgive God for there were times we blame God in so many instances.
23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.
Receive His forgiveness and then receive our healing; healing in our body; healing in our mind; healing in our emotion; and healing in our soul and spirit.
